Position Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher (0.8/0.6 FTE) to join the new research group Wearable Computing at Berlin University of the Arts and Einstein Center Digital Future (ECDF).

This is an exciting opportunity to conduct funded doctoral research in the project ‘Pleated Electronic Textiles for Wearable Technology’, contributing to the understanding and developing prototypes of pleated sensor/actuator technology for fashion or performance. The ideal candidate should have experience in electronic textiles, smart materials or fashion technology, and/or hardware and software systems for working with soft circuitry. Applicants should have an MA, MSc, MRes (or comparable) in Design, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Sound/Performance Technology, Robotics, Human Computer Interaction, or similar discipline.  The job posting is only available in German but we explicitly encourage non-German speakers to apply. Communication is in English, doctoral thesis can be written in German or English.
